My go to file manager ever when symbian was still a thing, not as versatile anymore but it has to do with the os probably?

(opened files stays open and popup music player) still the most versatile out there, imo.

The tree structure, along with multiple panels viewing, makes file management fast and straightforward.

add inbuilt previewing to the mix as well.

I also enjoyed the disk map feature, its again, really straightforward to use.

One catch, ui is rather old.

Lastly slightly off topic though, I miss jukebox.

Solid file explorer with an MC-style two-pane interface allowing basic file management and some more advanced operations.

The sshfs and SMB capabilities are very handy for accessing files on the network, and the web server is a terrific tool when current shares aren’t adequate.

I’d love to see NFS support, although I’ll agree that’s probably a limited use case.

This application might have a high learning curve if you’re not a “power” user and wish to use all the capabilities.

The application has several helpful functions including sync that can be used to backup files and folders and can also be used to access non-android drive volumes if used with Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB by Paragon Software.

It is not windows or Mac and it’s not designed to be but it is nice and I have found it the best to use on an android phone particularly when using Samsung Dex.

The panel system is really convenient and helps quite a lot while transferring files .

However, this makes the screen a lot congested and icons and everything is extremely close to each other with smaller size but nevertheless, you may use it besides your regular file manager whenever you want to copy paste or move files.

ssh client has two passphrase prompts appear up.

One for decrypting key file and another random passphrase question.

This never happened before – the ssh client used to perform solidly.

It’s not a problem with my key pairs as I was able to ssh into the server using putty.

Such a pity because I truly adore X-plore.

It’s just incredibly handy and has so many functions.

It’s significantly easier to move files on it than other file managers…

But it appears careless to incorporate an error like that.

Stuck on opening files when the other side is loading a cloud service folder like Dropbox, Google Drive or MEGA.

Can’t open any files till you reset the software, additionally I’m using internal storage and not SD Card thus it can’t be standard SD Card sluggishness (since I don’t have one).

You need to be careful using this software, yet, I admire its “strength.”

Note: I am fairly “techie.”

You need to pay attention to what you are doing.

A non-technical user (someone who doesn’t comprehend file systems and perceive the workings of this software) will feel annoyed.

But the “power user” will like its flexability and access to his/her device.

The usefulness and functionality of this app X-devices is unparalleled.

Having a background beginning with the the oldest Win-explorer file managers, this software allowed me one of the simplest migrations to Android.

If there is something a file manager should perform that is lacking, I don’t know it.

My various cloud storage disks are “all device” accessible.

I can see, transfer, install, remove, etc… pretty much anything I need to do from one app.

I’ve given more than once.

In a word… Exceptional.

I’ve enjoyed this software since since Android prevented you from being able to view all files remotely, however I have been running into issues when attempting to copy and paste files into other data folders recently and I can’t figure out what the problem is.

Great vintage experience of Symbian and JAR mobile with functional ftp client..

I tried a bunch of ftp client but others failed to function and I somehow discovered this and it works like magic.

Just one idea, pls alter UI style to comprehend easier.

I’ve been using X-plore for several years and it’s always done all I’ve needed it to accomplish.

I really appreciate that it interacts with Google Drive and has a built in wifi file server so you can simply upload and download files between your phone and any other computers/tablets/phones/etc that are connected to the same wifi.

I am using this app from last 9 years …

The first app I put in the phone is xplore.. great app .. amazing features…

Been using Xplore longer than any other app.

With an LENOVO P11 tablet and S10 sd card !

It has been better than vital.

Other applications not so.

1st of All, it sees my SD card, OTA USB etc.

Learning curve req’d, as usual for Anything FANCY.

You won’t understand at first how awesome this software is, but it seems like whenever I need to do something hard that file managers simply won’t do…this app accomplishes it (renaming lots of files in batches is really easy with this app for example) (renaming lots of files in batches is incredibly easy with this app for example).

it has a bit of a learning curve, but I guarantee you it’s worth the work!

Absolutely the greatest file organizer I’ve ever used.

Allows transmission and administration of files saved on the cloud without needing that specific service’s app plus it features a great video player and its own text editor.

It’s truly like a dozen applications in one.

Even provides access to files that are banned on nonrooted phones in most other apps (such as Android/data for us Android 11 users).

Can not recommend this app enough.

I cannot believe it took me so long to uncover this amazing software!

It accomplishes all I was expecting it would do and more.

The split pane perspective is fantastic.

I enjoy the disk use chart, WiFi file sharing, simplicity of adding favorites, moving, viewing files on distant servers, root access, checksums, everything.
