Review:

I keep trying to find reasons to switch to other navigation apps and when I do I always go back to waza because it’s just more reliable and seems to be the fastest. However, I have a problem with most speed traps not being announced verbally and offline support being lacking. I would also like to see traffic lights that should display and announce when you have to turn, for example “in 500m turn right at the traffic lights”.
Good navigation app. I would prefer to see more preference settings. As Brits we use yards to indicate distances – “1000 feet” instead of “300 yard” grids. It does not show the speed limit on the road where you are. One of the main advantages of sat navs is the indication when you are approaching a cash withdrawal point, which the authorities refer to as “security cameras”; it would be nice to be able to set a horn alert and adjust the alarm volume independent of other volume.
It needs a better calendar. I’m trying to set it up for August 1st cleaning, but it won’t let me set it up that far in advance, and it doesn’t even have Saturday in the dropdown when one of my cleaning jobs is. Please fix the calendar and I will change my rating after I use it and it works well. I haven’t used it while driving yet, but I will tomorrow. But why bother putting in something that doesn’t give you enough options if you have a trip planned. At least for a small calendar in the application!!!
The best features are the speed limit and speed limit alerts. Many of my journeys are local and I don’t need guidance, just speed alerts. The update means that more of the screen is visible when it’s not actually there. Thank you for that!! Alerts are very useful. Generally easy to use app and my previous and frequently used targets are easily accessible. Great and free app.
What I liked about the waza was the big bold colored buttons, much easier to use in the car. The little black “integrated” button and information is a big waste of value. Plus, I could easily choose work or home from the travel plan. Now, if I go somewhere else, my best spots are kind of lost, I don’t know where. I haven’t even tried redirection or other options because I don’t feel safe using them. Finding a location is one thing… saving a location was harder to figure out on Android auto.
Waze is a good navigation system. Easy to use and provides a lot of information. Today we had to make a quick trip to get temporary driver’s licenses for two people. Long story. Waze is good, but the roads where I live are not very good. Ads kept popping up at critical moments. I turned down the volume. The map was replaced by road signs, most of which were closed. Luckily I know the area, but once we got the target in sight the rest was simple.
I have saved my $$ several times. You would like to see information that the target is approaching left or right. It takes a few more seconds to answer There or There. The alphabetical order of saved locations needs to be fixed. Too many ads. I understand you need to make money but I would and I’m sure others would pay for the ad free version.
I have been using this app for over a year and have put over 11,000 miles on it. I am a Royal Wazer (top 1%) in my area with over 63,000 points. It was quite useful for me locally and when traveling in other cities or provinces. I like being able to report hazards and see reports from others. My biggest concern is that I’ve had issues with missing points when traveling in another city or province. I have not been able to get enough support or points for this issue.
Quite good. I had one or two drives that went nowhere, but that was a few years ago. I don’t understand why “Hey Google” sometimes opens Waze and sometimes Maps. Let’s say I don’t want to use Maps. I also find it difficult to cancel the ride… Thanks for an excellent app! BTW, I don’t like that you removed the easy way to access previous units. Click the button and I was in.
I have been using Waze for as long as I can remember, at least 10 years. I’ve always been an android and just started using android auto. Not everything in the app works there, like sharing your ride. What happened to widgets for Android? I have a new phone and they are gone. I would like to pay for the ad-free version as they take up a lot of the screen and cover the navigation.
The best navigation app in the world, I have Waze on, even though I don’t use it for navigation, it’s good for traffic and road hazard warnings. One thing I’d like to see is the name of the street or road you’re on, even when you’re in free roaming mode (no destination set). It only seems to tell you if you have a target set. Google Maps has this feature.
I really appreciate this app for alerting me of speed cameras, potholes and road works etc. However, after a recent update I can no longer check the map for the destination address or where the app thinks I have entered the destination. Instead, the app will go directly to the navigation, often to the wrong address. This is frustrating when some of the destinations are quite random from what I originally said. Skoda Octavia 2017 used as a registered taxi.
