Review:

Great app! It runs smoothly and some of the settings are great like notifying me of my screen time every 10 minutes, usage assistant and accurate stats, everything. I would like to suggest another thing: please let it block notifications from distracting apps in focus mode, it’s not useful to see incoming messages and I can’t reply or ignore them at that moment.
I love this app! It made me so much more productive during the day!! The only issue I have with the app is that I wish the notifications that alerted me how long I’ve been in the app were push notifications rather than just appearing below my notifications. I’ve looked into the settings and can’t seem to change it. Otherwise it’s an awesome app!!
Very good features, I like how there is a “no cheat” password option. I would like to give 5 stars but the app shows a small symbol on the edge of the screen which is very annoying. That doesn’t seem to do anything either. I can move it around but it won’t go away and I can’t figure out if it’s possible to get rid of it. Otherwise very good, highly recommend!
An incredible app for anyone who struggles with screen time. Most of the time I end up scrolling doom for hours without even noticing. The most useful feature for me has to be “Limits on the Go”, it allows you to set a timer to remind you to close the app after a set amount of time.
I think the app is great and I actually improved my productivity quite a bit after using it. One problem I found is that you can easily toggle “Focus Mode” on and off from the notification menu. It seems to be bypassing the pin or challenge you set. I had to get rid of it so I wouldn’t be tempted to turn it off so easily. I think it would be great to have focus mode as a button you can press on the app’s main screen instead of having to go through menus to activate it
I have searched a lot of apps to restrict my phone and this is by far the best and ideal app for that purpose. There are many features such as setting limits on app usage or total screen time. There is also a focus mode where any app that distracts you is blocked from your set schedule. You can also block keywords and websites and the app will turn it off whenever it appears on the screen. I hope it stays free forever.
I love it! I can limit myself to a certain amount of time on a particular app like Facebook so I can be forced to abandon my scrolling doom or mindlessly play a game. Both were major sleep procrastinators for me. Not sure if this is an option, I haven’t found it if it is, but it would be nice if you could schedule a time or day for it to shut down selected apps so it can prevent you from staying up too late.
Cooldown travel limits are absolutely essential – I’ve been looking for this for years! I can’t cheat with the cooldown period by specifying 5 minutes for the application and then reopening a new session. Have to wait. All in all super easy to set up and on the first day I already saved about an hour of unnecessary phone usage compared to pre-app! Thankfully, it’s completely ad-free and also doesn’t require unnecessary phone permissions.
They downloaded this app when another addiction app on the phone started crashing. StayFree is more than just a replacement – its capabilities are more than I knew I needed! The focus mode is so simple and easy to use. I would estimate that it got me an extra hour of sleep tonight, probably more. Popups work great. I like the flexibility of notifications versus popups versus complete blocking for individual app limits. The graphs and data displayed are exactly what I needed.
An excellent tool with several ways to limit apps, from simple time limits to requirements for how much time you want an app before it’s locked. I’m just not rating it higher because it seems to affect my phone’s performance. YouTube (limited app) is now a bit slower, a bit more buggy. Especially when launching apps once I’ve enabled “On the Go”. Personally, I don’t mind it, but an app that can slow down your phone should get the drop. Get it if you value your time
I’ve tried a few apps to try and limit my phone usage, and StayFree is by far the best. With the new updates, this app is basically perfect. It gives you complete control over whether you want to restrict access to only certain apps (which I recommend doing, because otherwise you’ll be annoyed that you won’t have access to email anymore and disable the program), or whether you want to remove certain apps from the total time calculation.
