Review:

Since the last 2 updates I can’t listen to music properly. The music keeps pausing, the app is slow, the song skips randomly, it takes forever (sometimes 10 minutes) to change a song, and it crashes. I used to love Spotify but now it’s terrible. Unbiased. EDIT: These issues have since been fixed, so I’ve rated it 4 stars. The only problem I have is that now Spotify only shuffles about 100 songs from my 400+ song playlist and then repeats the same 100 songs.
Almost everything in this app is great. I have used it for years with minimal complaints. One thing I would like to improve is my home page where your recent plays are displayed. There are podcasts that I listened to once months ago still remain recently played on the home page. It blocks my other podcasts from notifying me of a new episode. I can’t get rid of these unwanted podcasts from my home page.
I previously rated it 3 stars because when I was listening to music through this app in my vehicle, the music would randomly stop after a song or 2 or 3 and the song it stopped on would start again when you opened the app. deposit. I didn’t seem to have this problem for a while, but I’m going to keep my rating at 3 stars because I saw a news article about Spotiy being more successful than expected and now you’re going to raise the price!? It’s not cool. Still the best music app.
I like Spotify. I’ve been using it for years, but there are things that just annoy me, like my 600+ song playlist. When I shuffle it it keeps playing the same 20 songs and it’s frustrating. if Spotify wants to increase the premium price they should fix it and add a new feature because I’m paying more if we users get nothing in return?
Love this app and use it everyday. Paying the premium is worth it because of the long commute and the soothing sounds at night help my kids sleep. However, lately it has stopped repeating playlists even when I have the repeat button selected. You’re not sure what’s going on, but it’s a little annoying as it switches from calm ocean waves to intense storms and wakes your kids up. The ocean waves playlist used to repeat, but not anymore, even when repeat is selected.
I don’t know what happened, but for ONE day I had a really cool feature that allowed me to add a song to multiple playlists at once using individual checkboxes on the Add to Playlist screen. I’m not sure where this feature went, but it’s gone from my app now. Checked for an update but there is none. If I’m missing something, PLEASE HELP! I want this quick add feature back!
Spotify is a great music streaming service that has a lot to offer. I like the music discovery feature and the integration with other devices. However, the user interface can be a bit confusing. Overall I give Spotify 4 stars. I hope that Spotify will continue to improve the user interface design in the future. I’d also like to see a dislike button that doesn’t hide the song so I can listen to it with other people who enjoy it. Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Spotify>Apple Music
The “plus” update could be confusing when you wanted to mark a song that was already in a playlist, but I really liked the ability to add to multiple playlists or remove them from others at the same time. After getting used to it, it’s frustrating that the feature seems to have been removed without any reason, notice or explanation.
I love the app, the only problem I have with it is that the karaoke function 🎤 is not available for me. I can see the lyrics syncing with the song, but I can’t lower my voice if I want to sing. I can’t even see the microphone icon. I checked the settings to see if I missed something. My app is updated to the latest version. I’ve been using Spotify for over ten years, I’ve never missed any new updates that Spotify comes out with, except this one. Spotify dev team… look into it and fix it.
I am a user using the free version and have been fine with it for over 3 years. However, I recently got 30 minute commercial breaks that are not 30 minutes long but 6 minutes long. So I’ll be listening to two songs and I keep seeing an ad even though I’m watching the entire ad and not looking at other apps. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it still happens. I know what else to do.
As a premium user, I would like to suggest a feature here. The problem I have encountered is that when I try to connect to another device or play music on another device, the option for other devices under “Select Device” does not appear. Maybe you could add a ‘refresh’ feature so I don’t have to leave and re-enter Spotify, or I don’t know how you’re going to solve this problem.
I love this app for the most part and have been paying for it for almost 6 years now. I wish you could figure out what is causing the local files added to your playlist to be grayed out randomly. I generally have to remove them from the playlist and then re-add them from the local files to get them working again. Since you are increasing the price of everything, I believe at this point you need to add higher quality audio like some competitors have. You’re a little behind the times on that front.
