Edit: Took a gap year in 2020 which was said to be the best time to play with all the pandemic bonuses Niantic provided. 3 years later they reversed them all despite being what 2021 brought (and leveling up to 50). Niantic has added a lot in the 4 years since my review and I still play it daily. I took the star because of Niantic making the game less accessible to players, as well as no major changes over the years. 9.5.19 The game I play the absolute most
Love the game. I like that they updated how hard it is to get a catch sometimes. I like that they finally swapped out characters in the close surrounding areas for those who are hard to move around. It definitely helps me get out of the house and improves my agoraphobia a bit. I think the game is a good idea for people with mental problems. Mainly that. I had a problem late playing with a friend, I was having a hard time getting him to show up for the game.
The game is great but lately when I open the game my character is in a place far away from where I actually am. It takes a while for the game to realize I’m not there and then teleports me back to my real location. I don’t know if this is a bug or if my GPS is shaky, but if it is a bug, please fix it. I don’t want my account to be blocked by mistake because of something I didn’t do and can’t control.
Totally average considering the budget. Collecting Pokemon is fun. Gameplay is woefully poor. It encourages practice and significantly improves pattern recognition and memory. A simple and accessible combat system masks complex strategies. What can be improved? The game’s turn-based option (due to the huge difference in latency). Slow down the animations and make them more beautiful and “impressive”. It takes TOO long to send and receive gifts: an option to send/receive them all at the same time and efficiently, please.
For the most part the game works fine, but the Nintendo Switch connect feature to connect to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on my new Samsung S23 Ultra is not working. This feature has been available for 4 months now and it still doesn’t work with this phone. Switch connection works fine on my wife’s Pixel 6 Pro and my old S21 Ultra. So I’m not sure what the deal is.
The game is great. I have been playing for a while now and I love the experience which motivates me to practice more. I also like how cute the pokemons look I could get out and lose all my progress but overall it’s a great game that I’ll keep playing.
I love this game, the first time I tried to install it a long time ago and it failed quickly, then I tried again about 2 years later and it was much easier, I find the game really fun and the only thing that bothers me is I’m A.R. and the fact that you might be so close to the gym and just can’t get there but overall great game!!!
I really enjoy this game. I’ve stuck with it since the beginning, but recently Niantic has been making some really bad decisions. I know the remote raids were to get people to go out more and I understand that. But the gold boosted shiny event was a little disappointing because there were no pokestops. The worst decision for me so far was taking back the recently doubled spawn radius. Instead of only getting 1 spawn when I was in my house I got 3. Please bring this one back.
I have been a pokemon fan ever since I saw the animation. And I wanted to play GO since it started, but I couldn’t because I didn’t have a mobile back then. After getting my first mobile, I immediately downloaded GO and it plays almost regularly to this day and beyond. I’m having some network issues where I’m facing a “weak connection” display. Other than that, I really like GO. And I’m glad I installed it.
I love this game. it’s super fun to fight in go battle league and overall it’s really fun to play this game. I said that in 2019 and it still stands. Anything I edit in this review to talk about a bug that makes it less fun usually fixes it by the next update! Even though I don’t play it that often, I’m glad they keep supporting this game with new updates that keep me coming back!
A fantastic, free experience that encourages exercise. If you like rpgs, it’s extremely satisfying to level up and minmax pokemons to beat the game’s challenges. Although coming back after 7 years of development, I’m surprised there aren’t more features and better animations at this point; parts of the game are just plain ugly. Niantic seems to have stuck with the brand a bit.
It’s a good game to motivate people to go out and explore, but when a big event happens the servers crash and it’s hard for anyone to play when the servers are down. Also, if you catch quickly in ar mode, you’ll drop out and go into first person, but you can’t catch pokemons.
