Overall very enjoyable and have spent many hours on it. It has room for improvement but with I feel are pretty frequent updates and changes my interest is still held. I started my account back in 2016 and in comparison to then it has become drastically more enjoyable to play, is very addictive, and love that it encourages walking. Tho when taking a brake it’s very hard to get back into the groove and accidentally breaking the streak (even if it’s literally is by 5 minutes) kills motivation.
Love this game and play it probably more than I should. I played when it first came out but stopped playing shortly after. Around 2018 I downloaded it again and have been hooked ever since. You will benefit playing in a larger city with more people over a smaller town. I have had some issues and bugs too. The most annoying one currently is for some reason the screen dims while using the app regardless of phone settings. Raids will kick people out randomly and you have to contact support.
Very fun game I’ve consistently gone back to. The level of engagement offered is greatly appreciated and well rivals what’s *currently* on the market. Disappointing lack of development on the games main selling point, being AR functionality, and a disappointing lack of traditional thematic elements to make up for it. Overall a good product that sets a standard for the product category. If only that standard was set a little higher.
Edit: the game is fun but also a little too heavy on data usage. Not to complain about it, but it is a little slow because I’m on a unlimited family plan, maybe add a data saver button? It uses like 10GB in like 2 minutes. Its bad for me because on unlimited plans you have throttling. And my data is really getting throttled. Beside that though this app is amazing! I love playing it and if you can add the data saver option then ill rate the app 5 stars!
Great game for a free to play mobile game. Love the simplicity and easy to get into gameplay. However, I have been disappointed with the paid side of the game. Specifically, I have had 2 game breaking issues with paid for remote raids that left me wasting money due to a glitch. Filing a bug report doesn’t compensate you in any way, so it’s frustrating when a large portion of the game are the raids, especially for a rural player. Unless this is fixed I can only give a 2 star rating.
I would say the experience is as good as you have room for the game. The game is fun and gives me a reason to get out of the house and explore towns around me. But the real stickler of the game is how much space it needs especially with constant updates. It becomes a bit unbarable when you have to constantly delete apps to make room. Best to get a micro sd card for your phone to make it worth playing more.
Still annoyed by the bait & switch of promised free items that didn’t exist, but have to say that recently I’ve gotten back to PoGo. Some parts being locked behind paywalls is a bit of a letdown, and only being able to earn mega energy from mega raids is tough too, but overall it’s a bit of fun with friends, and has helped me explore a lot that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
Overall it is a balanced game fun and challenging. Trying to get you to get out side and have fun while exercising. I feel as tho most people play while driving which isn’t as fun as walking with friends. Walking with my pet is an adventure so is battling other people, I hope they come out with greater updates but an update every month isn’t necessary.
I had an ultra ball and I was waiting for the Pokemon to stop deflecting so I was spinning it and when I was about to throw it it stopped sparkling and I threw it like it was a curveball and it didn’t turn. It was my last PokeBall. Also all the candies are blue with white stripes? It also crashes whenever I’m going to catch a Pokemon and I press AR mode. I also wish there was a way to easily switch accounts instead of having to sign in and out constantly, It takes a while.
Very fun game, the concept of walking to play was very creative and keeps you active, and some may even experience weight loss due to addiction. The only issue is that with the new updates, the game seems to be dysfunctional on older devices. (Can’t relate)
The game is ok overall. There are frustrations with the AR mode. That doesn’t work properly, it won’t stay turned off. Signing out didn’t work. Tried uninstall and reinstall and changed the settings again to no AR and still wants to use AR mode. It does not recognize when I play with my buddy. Tapped. Tapped multiple. Tapped and swiped. No hearts given. There should be a computer generated friend. Some people do not play with friends online to gift or trade with.
Cheaters and no easy way to report them. I have seen extra shields, immediate charge moves, extra fast switch outs, and I suspect they can force the opponent to have a “weak connection”. Everything runs fine until these obvious cheaters (already used 3+ sheilds) start to loose. Please add an in app reporting system. Maybe on the journal you could select the entry and report from there? I certainly won’t buy any premium reward passes and haven’t spent $ on this game since finding out.
Love the game so much, been playing since 2018! Only one problem. Could you make it so that you need to hold on a research task to claim it. I’ve lost a 7 day streak so many times because of this. It is a simple change that could improve the game in a subtle but noticeable way. Thanks for making a great game, and I hope you continue to update the game to optimize player experience!😄😄
Wasn’t perfect, but it was at least playable until last update. Crashes no matter what I’m doing. I got the “Pokemon Go has Stopped” screen 20x today. Can’t open/send a gift without the game freezing on the animation, then crashing. I tap a Pokemon to catch and the screen turns white and crashes too. I tried clearing cache, reinstalling,etc. I haven’t even downloaded any other apps lately. No clue why PoGo just stopped working on my phone. Have to delete. I’ll miss my friends!
It would have been a 5 star except every time I battle (trainer battle,raid,ect) it give me this “weak connection” message and makes me lose at the worst times and another thing, the game would be way better if you had an option to move with thumb-stick, if you know what I mean. Niantic, if you see this please fix this.
