The Android app will not work with my plex server. I can’t play any kind of media at all on my phone. I am able to access my files with the wd cloud app and play media without plex, so it is not a network problem or media format. No problem with my Roku system or from a web browser. The problem is only with my phone and android app. I emailed support last week and they ignored me. I haven’t had this problem in the last three months, so it’s a recent thing. I will change my rating if they respond and help
really good software. The only problems related to the UI and that it is not the same experience on different hardware. small items like beats will take you to the playlist of the season instead of selecting one of the options next to the church bar. maybe i misuse it but there is something about a different experience in a different Hardware that might feel like a combined experience. nothing else prevents me from using and paying for the plex.
This app is the most amazing thing for people with digital TV and movie collections. It’s like a streaming service for your local files that can be played smoothly from anywhere. You can also select subtitle and audio tracks, and there is a function to mix episodes of TV shows even with all your movies
Released! Crash reboot play slow, crash reboot play slow ……. unbelievable! 4 times now on wifi at home 10ft away from win10 server. SSung s8 + android 8. FIRE your programmers. You just can’t use it. Too bad. It looks good but what good is it if you can’t get a 30 minute recording or live event without a hitch. And it was so good that I stopped my phone during its automatic reboot attempt until I forced it up. I miss my MS MC!
Good and bad. For the most part, with the bottom grabber and the best identifier I’ve ever used (much faster than PotPlayer, language selection is cut in half but tolerable), media servers are much easier to set up. And now for the worse part. There are no clear instructions anywhere on how to stream and make retro game media visible on android, on some platforms, this app hits more than other platforms, so I would recommend it, but I remember it is not always stable
Speaking of Plex itself. I like it. I love that I can add and manage users / pins. I love how easy it is to navigate. to set the remote access to the air. Perfectly though, I need to do a lot of research to see how it collects movie information, because it doesn’t always end with posters, cast, synopsis, etc. However, that adds to the point. Plex has made it a bag to access all my content including wedding videos, etc. I like that they only charge $ 5 for the watch item on mobile devices.
overall I like it. I have a paid account and share my libraries with my partner. it is stupid that phone apps require him to have a paid account to access my shared libraries. The phone app will allow him to play 1 minute at a time. I feel that this is very foolish because I am a paid user and I share with him my library. should be able to access what I have shared. I really wish there was more control over the fullness of the recommendation screen. otherwise I would have given these 5 stars
unreleased releases on Chromecast and get “error trying to play this video please try again later” on Android phone. You have downloaded and installed it many times and it does not last longer than very few uses. 3/3/21 – Problems continue. Every time I try to stream with this app I have to clear the cache, clear the data and save or completely uninstall the app and reinstall it so that I can stream once. Next time I sit down and broadcast I have to do it again.
