The game is enjoyable and visually appealing.

After a certain point, like level five, the jewels should no longer glow as clues.

I like how the difficulty ramps up as you progress through the game.

The fact that this game is part of the Rewarded Play program is particularly welcome.

Genies & Gems has been a tremendous success for me, and I wish there were more games like it.

The promotional ad and the real gameplay do not match.

What happened to the moving wall where you had to make matches?

After playing the game for a while, you’ll discover that it’s nothing more than a simple Match-3 game.

Overall, it’s not awful for a Match 3.

However, there is no doubt that this is a case of bait and switch and deception.

In the worst possible way, this game forces you to play by its rules.

You can’t even take a glance at the board without it giving you cryptic clues.

Let me play for two seconds before you notify me where a match is located.

It’s also impossible to turn off the voice lines, which are both obnoxious and repetitive.

Power-ups and in-app purchases are also heavily marketed.

The truth is that they aren’t even required.

Clean art and bug-free gameplay earn the game two stars instead of one.

I’m enamored with the game’s aesthetics and the way the graphics change with the player’s actions.

Each of the characters is well illustrated.

The colors are vibrant and the stages are designed in a way that is tough but also keeps my head whirring.

It’s possible to get hooked.
