So far so good, but the flash card system could be much better. It won’t let you loop all your flashcards together, but separate them by story and they’ll always be given to you in the same order. It also won’t let you change whether the flashcard first shows you the word in your language or the language you’re learning. It’s less of a card system and more of reading a list of words you don’t know.
I have been using this app for years. It’s the only app besides Spanish Dictation that I’ve stuck with because it’s really incredible and does exactly what it says. I literally had access to Spanish materials, improved my Spanish and never had any technical issues! It is much easier to remember vocabulary with context. Thanks for this awesome app!
One of the best ways to learn a language quickly is to start reading as early as possible, even if you don’t understand at first. This app exposes you to a native speaker who reads to you in your target language while you follow the text in both your native and target languages. This means you are exposed to correct pronunciation, spelling, listening and grammar. This app is highly effective when used alongside a textbook or other language course.
I only seem to add one language at a time (I have premium) I wish you could have separate pages for each language profile like Duolingo or Netflix. Maybe I just didn’t see a feature that allows this? I feel it would make the experience smoother and easier for language learners, because for example I’m A2 in French but C1 in German. Being able to have different pages for each language with different recommendations tailored to my level would be great. Otherwise a good app.
I studied Spanish years ago in school, but with little or no use I lost most of what I learned. Thanks to this app, I can brush up on my skills and learn new vocabulary. Most importantly, I will gain skills that I can use in everyday life! The app makes it easy to listen to the correct pronunciation as well as the definition of unknown words when they are used.
It is excellent for practicing languages. Even better would be to fine-tune some details, for example the reading indicator is currently reset to zero when looking up words in the dictionary or switching apps. Other than that, I recommend it. I love the News section.
I like using the app and I think it has a lot of potential, but I bought it to learn French from A1 level and it’s hard for me to find these stories. Even the basic reading course is B1 and higher. Is there a way to find all A1 stories as using the filter option won’t help.
I have used this app for several languages. The best part is that you can use different target languages and native languages. Ex. I use it to practice both French and Spanish, so I read French with Spanish translations. Good app for sure!
Wide variety of texts, lots of stories to read, the Russian one is great, if you get the annual membership, it’s actually quite cheap to access advanced level content, highly recommended
I really enjoy this app. It is very nice and useful. I subscribed to a 7-day premium trial and have a lot of options to choose from in filters like classic, adventure and more. I like to listen while reading and repeat as many times as I want. Includes Arabic language with English. Also vocabulary, it also helps to improve English, but the problem is the cost of annual and monthly subscriptions.
This app seems to be excellent. I subscribed to the trial version to have access to all the languages, but the creole language is not there, so unfortunately I will log out and uninstall.
My Review: As a foreign language teacher and linguist, I find this app incredibly useful, fun and educational. The learning method is fun and easy, the stories are great and really educational. It is simply one of the best, if not the best, language learning app you can find on the modern market. It makes learning fun, easy and really almost effortless. Christina Arko
