This is my main navigation app. I like that it works with AA and the maps are updated every month. But I often have to go back to Waze or Google Maps. It often doesn’t work when the internet reception is bad – which is really the whole point – although others still do. Edit* I am updating my review after very helpful support. It’s much better now, but it still needs a reboot every now and then, hence the 4 stars.
Really good. It stands out among the hundreds of navigation apps available, BUT being used on both Android and iOS makes the second version seem better and more polished, especially when used with a car head unit. I noticed that no street name is displayed on Android Auto and also the default view is too far away and you should be able to change it. I have a paid subscription and hope this gets resolved.
April 2023 Update – They seem to have solved my problem and it’s working fine. OP: I’ve been using this app for a few years, it’s always worked great. They paid for a lifetime license before switching to a subscription. Somewhere in the course of the updates they decided that turn by turn navigation is now a premium feature and no longer covered by my lifetime license. Now the premium ad takes up 1/4 of my screen when navigating a route even though turn by turn was included when I originally purchased the app.
The user interface of the app is great. However, a recent trip from NJ to DC took us on a really detour. It added an hour to an already long journey. We tried looking at the settings, but there was no clear reason why it chose inefficient routes.
I am writing this review for the premium+ upgrade. I’ve been using Sygic for years and have been very happy using it in the western US. I recently upgraded to premium+ because of the gas price feature. All prices listed vary from 1 month to 3 years and are worthless. Overall I like Sygic but premium+ is disappointing. I had a short chat with the support people but so far no solution to my problem.
He has a ways to go. I used it to navigate to work to try it out. Everything was nice, the graphics were different with 3D and a few other things, but it came with destruction, a shorter 900 yd. a few days later i tried again and this time i used my job title and got to the exact location. The next time I tried it was home from work and it worked perfectly, then a few days later the app kept crashing or having problems with the GPS signal so I went back to google maps
After many years, this latest update has fixed many issues like freezing while using, turning left in the middle of the highway, incorrect routing on a straight road, GPS stuck with optional routes and more. Please don’t break it. Much better than ever. Improved user interface with search functions and easy access to emergency and convenience information.
My first meeting with him was in 2002-2006. All I needed was navigation in Central Europe – it required bluetooth sat for geolocation. Just route selection in transport mode, no satellite view. All changes are unnecessary, others missing after almost 2 decades, useless for simple local needs from my side
Used on several trips with Android Auto in my Nissan Leaf with S23Ultra. The only problem is that the guidance volume is too quiet. It mutes the currently playing music but also mutes the voice guidance…it’s hard to hear the instructions. A volume slider in the app would be great. So far very stable with Android-Auto. Update: 6-Apr-23 Still great and now they’ve added a volume slider to the app. I can’t wait to try it in the car. I said…they listened…they listened! Thank you – now 5 stars👍🏼
The program works well with the free version, but if I drove a lot, I would get the premium version to avoid traffic jams and find the cheapest gas. I had to reinstall when the maps disappeared, but after reinstalling the program works fine (just need to re-enter the routes).
