Except for the crippling, this is a well-thought-out app. I “donated” and was granted write access via FTP.Â
The Play Store, however, informed me that I already owned the app, so I had no choice but to buy more beer in order to use another crippled option.Â
It would be helpful to have a better grasp on the payware’s rules and regulations.
Just upgraded from Android 11 to Android 12 and x-plore appears to be broken.Â
As far as storage is concerned, there’s nothing here.Â
I emailed the developer to see if he could come up with a solution.Â

It’s still running on my phone (10), so the following is still relevant.Â
It’s my go-to app for everything on my phone.
I’ve never come across a better solution for managing files on mobile devices.Â
I had high hopes for this app, but it exceeded them all thanks to its inclusion of support for smb, sshfs, and other cloud services like Dropbox and Google Drive.Â
File manipulation is a primary focus of the “two page” UI, and the overall built-in support for various file formats is fantastic.Â
You’re doing a great job!

Since installing it, I don’t recall ever using a USB cable to transfer files.Â
The dual-panel design makes it simple to use in any orientation.Â
I don’t even need to transfer my “media” files from my PC to my phone because of the built-in viewers.Â
In a slideshow, I’d like to see the images fill the entire screen.Â
A pinch-out feature that snaps to the screen edges would be nice, as well.
Android 11 doesn’t allow access to Android or data.Â
You can’t access the following folders on your internal storage or memory card since Android 11: Android/dataÂ
Android/obbÂ
This used to be fantastic, but it’s not anymore.Â
Once you’ve been granted access to the folders, you’re free to browse through them whenever you like.Â
Every time you open the app after the latest update, the same permission is requested, but this time it doesn’t work.Â
There is no other way to fix it than to wipe everything clean.Â
PLEASEÂ FIXÂ IT!
Very well-written and well-thought-out piece of computer software.Â
On my Android devices, I use X-plore on a daily basis.Â
On any screen size, it’s simple to use.Â
There’s no limit to what this can do when it comes to moving files from one place to another.Â
