Maps are something I enjoy.

Only one problem.

The new route is a complete and utter mess.

There were a thousand such rerouting victims in a single horse town on my previous travel to Florida, so I decided to get off I-95.

We’d all lost 60-90 minutes by now.

Many people claim that disconnecting mobile data in the Google Maps app would stop the rerouting feature from working.

Toggle switches in apps would be much more user-friendly for me.

It’s a solid piece of software.

Using it in situations where I don’t have access to a data network is a plus.

However, there are several drawbacks:

The audio instructions are obnoxiously loud.

Having this app shout at me when I’m driving or chatting over my favorite section of a song has to be reduced in volume.

As a result, you’ll often begin your journey in the wrong direction because it’s difficult to tell which way you are facing.

It’s nice to see the new traffic signals, speed restrictions, and other features.

I’d want to see more speed restrictions and more accurate information on the map.

As hard as it is to believe, apple maps has more precise speed restrictions than ever before.

I’d like it if turn-by-turn directions made use of road signs or lighting.

At the stop sign, for example, turn right.

In addition, Google Maps needs to be more reliable.

You might use a lane guidance display to help you make the correct exit.

Overall, it’s OK, but it’s just a tad underwhelming.

This is a better option than the alternatives.

It’s a breeze to get about.

For example, I wish there was a method of altering the language that Maps uses to respond to queries, especially when searching for places

Even when I use Maps in English and pronounce things just as I would, it never understands what I’m trying to say (not English names).

When I’m driving, this can be dangerous because I have to jump through hoops in order to change the global language.

As long as you’re focused, you’ll get there.

At the bottom was a Google assistant bar that made it simple to go from one app to the next or from the phone to the map.

It was a nice feature, because now you have an icon for your media player on the map.

Only speech recognition can make phone calls, and the map is reduced or hidden if PiP isn’t enabled.

Newer updates have decreased the functionality of my assistant menu bar.

There are several things like “remain in the 2 right lanes” that I appreciate you adding.

However, you won’t get instructions like, “At the second stop, turn right,” on Apple Maps, for example.

Also, I’m getting “turn left” when it’s actually “right” on the map in certain cases.

Because I don’t want to keep my eyes on the computer all the time, I like to hear the arrows moving on the screen.

This has always been my go-to app for finding my way around the city.

Reduced from four to three stars due to deterioration in responsiveness.

One point deducted for the “latest in the area” feature being forced.

I’m planning to switch to a new navigation app, but I’m sure I’ll come back to this one eventually.

Would be nice if they allowed us to turn off “Latest in the Area.”

Corrected myself one again!

I gave it an extra star because of its user-friendly design.

There is a neat thing about the new feature where you can see all of your prior trips to a particular spot in chronological order.

In addition, several of the recent issues have been fixed, and Maps is once again a joy to use.

Previously, I’d want to thank you for your feedback

Suggests a long period of time spent behind the wheel.

With the missing drop-down menus, editing has become more difficult.

Please address the issues with this once-fantastic app.

You can get my 5-star rating restored if you do so.

About ninety-five percent of the time, it works flawlessly for me.

Updates have made it so that even if I’m not looking at the screen and don’t dismiss it, the system will automatically switch to a more efficient route, even if it takes an additional two hours to get there.

Planning excursions on my motorbike that cover more than 4,000 miles and include multiple stops has always left me short on time.

A world without boundaries would be liberating.

Finding myself on the incorrect highway for miles in an attempt to reach my goal when the proper route to my destination could have been reached in a few short blocks is infuriating.

It would be good if the maps could keep up with the speed of the vehicle.

I’d rather see an automobile icon than a 400-foot-off arrow.

My navigation software, Google Maps, always instructs me to make a left at the next junction, even though I am already at the one shown.

Throughout the ten years that I have been using Google Maps

I’ve found it to be quite helpful.

However, from the beginning of 2018

I observed a problem with the degree of control I had over the routes I could choose from on the network..

It wasn’t something that happened on a regular basis.

So, I completely forgot about it.

As of 2020, the problem had resurfaced.

There was a further worsening of the situation in the year 2021.

Every time I left the country, I started fresh.

Every time I took a road trip.

Because of the difficulties I encountered, I had to give up a lot of time, patience, and trust in the software.

A 5 star app existed before 2020.

Exceptional, but not flawless.

There should be an option to remove companies based on their category, as the amount of information displayed when one zooms in on a certain location is just too overwhelming.

Having said that, I feel that this is the finest app for maps, directions, and information right now and in the not too distant future.

The number of pins would be reduced if company categories were listed in a drop-down menu that could be toggled on or off.

And I’m aware that a “Your List” may be built, but then no area searches for a category.

My maps app is one of my favorite things.

Having this means that I don’t have to worry about being lost at any time of day or night.

It can be inconvenient when it takes me through regions I don’t want to go through in order to save a few seconds.

Aside from that, driving times are dependent on speed limitations, which isn’t always correct based on individual driving patterns.

I never expected to be reviewing ‘Google Maps.’

My smartwatch’s NavMe app and Google Maps have been my go-to tools for finding my way around town while riding my motorbike, but the new “Measure” function in Google Maps lets you enter an address and obtain an estimate of how far it is to any other location in the world.

It’s wonderful!

It’s useful for figuring out where to jog or inline skate.

Google, thank you for all your help!

To begin with, the steps appear precise and I can make it through a few turns, but then it gives me directions, as if I were one street off, to reach the road I’m presently on.

It’s a real pain in the neck.

This started a few months ago and only occurs on occasion.
